The music of Spinnaker is deep sea blues & salty folk.  Imagine "whirled roots" music: combine Celtic, Blues, Rock, Maritime, Reggae, Americana and Folk, give it a good spin, and you have Spinnaker.  Spinnaker's  four members have histories in other bands including Shanghaied on the Willamette, Broadsides, Howlin' Gael, Three Sheets to the Wind, Graces Darlings, and St. Elmo's Choir.  The music they play blends all of those influences into a fun and lively mix, with a fair amount of salt, smoke, and grit.  Their sound has been compared to Steeleye Span, Pentangle, and Great Big Sea.

The band is made up of Mary Benson (vocals); Tony Sciola (guitars, mandolin, percussion, vocals); Jonathan Lay (guitar, djembe, bodhran, vocals), and Dan Gicker (bass, vocals).
